On Friday we celebrated European Languages Day. This year our focus has been on French across the school. As we launch our new French scheme for KS2, we took the opportunity to provide an immersive experience for all children. All children have been able to visit an international food café in school, where they have tried foods from different European countries. In Years 3 and 4, children have learnt to sing a song entitled ‘Everyone Smiles in French’ and listened to a popular story book read in French. In Years 5 & 6, the children have learnt about a French song in line with this year’s theme ‘Language Open Hearts and Mind’ and undertaken French oracy activities.
