Grange Junior School is built on a foundation of values that are promoted throughout the school and permeate everything we do. These values are an integral part of school life and education, as well as the growth and moral development of our pupils.
Previously, the Grange Junior core values were responsibility, compassion, respect, trust, forgiveness, and hope. While I endorse these values, and would like to reassure you that these values will continue to be exemplified in the attitude and behaviour of our pupils, I feel a change of focus is needed to steer the school in the right direction.
As such, I will be implementing a new set of values for the Grange Junior School staff, pupils, and school community. Under my leadership, the school will be increasing efforts to communicate with all members of our community and better include them with decision-making on matters that affect them.
As part of this new approach, I will be consulting with the school’s stakeholders, including parents, to determine what the new Grange Junior School values should be. In doing so, the school community will be united by a set of shared, deeply held values that represent exactly what we stand for and believe in.
The values we agree upon will become the basis of teaching and learning at our school and be evident in lessons taught across the curriculum. They will also be the foundation of the expected behaviour and attitudes of pupils and staff alike, who will embody these values at school and when representing Grange Junior School.
Under my headship, these values will be emphasised, and everyone involved with the school will be encouraged to exemplify them at every opportunity. In doing so, we will establish a caring school atmosphere and an excellent learning environment that is conducive to education and success.
If you would like to have your say on what our new school values should be, I’d love to hear your opinion, so please contact the school on 01793 822405.
